Success means getting things accomplished.

The only way to get things done is to stay positive and productive.

It all comes down to maintaining a routine and balancing your time to get the most out of your day.

You don't need an elaborate system to increase your productivity, just a few simple tips to apply to your workday. We hope these 5 daily tips help you create energy and the right method to TACKLE THE TRIALS of a busy day!

  1. Balance

Start off with a good morning routine. Your day transpires from your mind and body. Your overall physical and mental state are key to staying focused and crushing your to do lists.

When it comes to easing your mind, try meditation. Allowing yourself a few minutes to boost positive energy, breathe, and get in the right mindset to tackle the day. Meditation can also help you resolve stress, in and out of the work place and keep a confident attitude.

Strive to be at your best physical condition. Exercise will produce energy, renew your motivation, and increase inspiration. Maintaining a healthy diet comes right alongside this, especially allowing time to eat breakfast. Specific foods, nutrients, and lots of water have a huge impact on the way you think and feel.

  1. Evaluate

Writing a to-do list is key. Compile all of your tasks and prioritize from most important to least. Assign specific times to tasks; guard your time so you can reclaim attention and improve your work.

Attempt to gather your list and evaluate each task the night before, so you can hit the ground running the next morning.

Nobody is able to recall everything at all times. As long as you remember to look at your to-do list, you will never forget any of your tasks.

Sometimes a time tracking tool like Harvest can also help manage time spent on certain responsibilities and projects. The tool allows for more focus on the task at hand and less worrying about time management.

Do your best to accomplish what you set out for. There is nothing better than crossing off a completed task from your list.

  1. Move!

Re-energize when needed. Reboot your brain, your body, and most importantly your eyes. Always make sure to take screen breaks, a recommended 5–minute break away from computer operation each hour.

Get up and move around. Go outside, you’ll more than likely be soaking up some sun; natural light aides in mood and perception. "Light is the most important synchronizing agent for the brain and body," study co-lead author Ivy Cheung, a Ph.D. candidate in neuroscience in Zee's lab. "Proper synchronization of your internal biological rhythms with the Earth's daily rotation has been shown to be essential for health."

Challenge yourself to go for a walk 3 times a week; if time does not allow, attempt office exercises and stretches to keep your mood and muscles right. Try standing while taking a phone call, some exercise is better than none!

  1. Focus

Stay away from distractions. Recognition of your day to day disruptions is one step closer to alleviating the problem.

One example, limit your phone time or shut it off all together. Perhaps set aside time blocks to deal with calls and messages. “Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, researchers from Florida State University found that even if you don’t look at your phone when it buzzes, the sound makes your mind wander.

Listen to your brain. Be in tune with your feelings. When alert and at your best, concentrate on important tasks. When you hit the mid-day slump and your feeling tired; work on somewhat mindless tasks.

When dozing off, plug in your headphones. Disconnect from the office noise, keep yourself awake, and possibly spark some creativity towards your current task.

  1. Collaborate

Most importantly, collaborate with your team. This allows for everyone to be on the same page from the beginning, equal participation, and eliminates confusion. Ultimately, meeting face to face provides immediate clarification and promotes efficiency while allowing you to step away from your computer and connect personally.

Avoid blame. Inspire one another; it will only lead to continuous teamwork, respect, and drive.

Treat one another with gratitude, trust, and integrity. A positive environment will lead to higher productivity and commitment.

Adjusting your day with a few of these tips could be just what you need to increase your productivity. What advice do you have to stay productive? Share your tips below.
