If you're looking for some new tools to simplify your blogging, here's a select assortment of tools that will help make the blogging process quicker, easier, and may even add a pinch of fun along the way.

1. Evernote

Evernote is the ultimate blogging workbench. It's perfect for saving ideas, pictures, links, reminders, and lists. You can access Evernote from virtually anywhere, it happens to be compatible with most mobile devices. Work on the same document from your phone, desktop, or tablet.

Here's a screenshot of how the Evernote app looks on the iPhone:

2. Alltop

Alltop comes in handy when in search of some blog topic inspiration. This tool allows you to view a list of recent posts from the best blogs around the world. And it's easy enough to use, simply select a topic that you're interested in, and you'll be served up a list of high performing posts related to that topic.

Here's an example of the results that came up when I searched "SEO":

3. Creative Commons

Each blog post that you create should include at least one image. If you often search the internet for hours on end looking for the perfect image, or don't want to pay for stock image - Creative Commons is your new best friend. You can sift through sites like Google, Fotopedia, Flickr, and SpinXpress to find images.

Creative Commons allows you to filter through their library for images that you can "use for commercial purposes," and "modify, adapt, or build upon." It's still in your best interest to give attribution within your post to the image source, and include a link to their page.

4. Übersuggest

Übersuggest is a great tool to generate general topic ideas for new blog posts. Simply type in a term that you're interested in creating a blog post around, and choose the language and source.

Übersuggest can suggest topics from a standard web search or from search verticals like shopping, new or video. Übersuggest will create a list of keywords based on real user queries. This is extremely helpful for coming up with blog post topics or even to optimize PPC campaigns.

Here's a screenshot of keywords that were suggested when I searched "Inbound Marketing":

5. Click to Tweet

Click to Tweet is a handy tool that lets you generate a pre-formatted tweetable link for your readers to share your content. This is best used when sharing compelling facts and stats that you think your readers would be inclined to share.

Just write the messaging you'd like to appear in the tweet box, and click 'Generate Link,' you then can hyperlink the text within your content. Here's an example of how we used the Click to Tweet tool within one of our blog posts:

Upon clicking on the 'Tweet This' this screen will pop up with the pre-formatted tweet:

And your readers can share information quickly and easily right from your post. The best part is that you can create the messaging of the tweet - so include your Twitter handle, that way when users to tweet, you'll get some social exposure!

6. Portent

Portent is one of the more creative tools. Portent will create more eye-catching headlines to use in blog posts than the ones that you'd typically use. Simply type in your subject or keyword and let Portent work it's magic! A new title is generated each time you click. You can use Portent to come up with a brilliant titles or even to generate compelling blog topics.

For example, I typed it the search subject " SERPS" and the result was" Homer Simpson's Guide to SERPS", this could either be completely irrelevant, or it could be the next genius blog post you create!
