Another holiday weekend at the Jersey Shore is upon us. While each business and home may not be fully restored, the heart and soul of the Jersey Shore is undeniably present this 4th of July Weekend.

Though weekend beach-goers flocking to the Jersey Shore may typically be an annoyance to local residents, it should serve as a positive reminder of how very loved these little shore towns are. The never-ending weekend traffic, long lines at the funnel cake stands, and crowded beaches, are symbolic of how precious our Jersey Shore towns are to people near and far.

In many ways, the beachfront restoration was the easy part for New Jersey. Unfortunately, there is still a need for assistance for those who have lost their homes. While many buildings and houses were lost, and may never be restored, we have also gained so much since Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc on our shores - a new appreciation for our beaches and a stronger sense of community.

As we spend the weekend creating new memories at the Jersey Shore, we’ll be keeping in our thoughts, those that are still displaced by Hurricane Sandy, and we encourage you to do the same.

Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July weekend!
