If you entered a question into Google recently, you may have noticed the informational box at the top of the page that displays a quick answer to your question.
Not sure what I’m talking about? Take a look at the example below.
Notice how the definition of SEO comes up in the search result right away. Without even having to click on a website!
This friends, is part of Google’s Rich Answer Box. This featured snippet has been around for years, with more results being added to the answer box.
So why are Quick Answers important?
1. You have the ability to be in the most visible spot on the page without 1st page ranking
2. You have better engagement of those who click to your site
3. Proven results of increase in organic traffic
4. Proven results of increase in revenue from organic channel
Which type of content is more prominent for quick answers? These include:

So, how do you get your content to show up in Google’s Rich Answer Box?
Let’s get right into it! Here are three ways you can optimize your content to help it rank in “position zero”.
1. What kind of content should you optimize?
It is important to note, the content you are optimizing should be high quality content and already show in the top 5 of the SERP.
Next, the content you are looking to optimize should have 1000+ backlinks to your domain.
Finally, your content should have less than 2000 words on the page with good user engagement.
2. Find the best keyword opportunities to pursue
There are a few ways to go about this. First, do some keyword research to define topics that are most associated with your domain.
After you do your research, check for additional opportunities. Are there keywords that already have Quick Answers?
Finally create a list of 50-100 topics that you want to work on.
3. Optimize: on-page, off-page and technical aspects
When optimizing your content, structure the page with user experience in mind.
Next, include your target question into H1 and do basic SEO: URL, keyword density etc.
Lastly, and most importantly, provide a direct answer to your question in the first paragraph: text or list.
